Accommodation and settlement support is a comprehensive service that helps students move into their new housing and integrate into their new community. This includes assistance with check-in procedures, local registrations, basic shopping needs, and guidance on daily life essentials.
Adjusting to a new living environment can be challenging, especially in a foreign country. Support during this phase helps reduce stress, ensures all administrative and practical tasks are handled properly, and allows you to feel comfortable and secure from the start.
This service is provided by SIMI Swiss’s student support team and trusted StudyAbroader local partners. The team has extensive experience in assisting international students and offers warm, hands-on support throughout the initial settlement process.
You should use this service immediately after your arrival and once you have moved into your accommodation. Early settlement support helps you set up your new life smoothly and avoid unexpected difficulties.
Accommodation and settlement support is offered at your place of residence and in the surrounding local community. Additional support is also available online or at SIMI Swiss campuses and partner offices in selected areas.
Students receive help with moving in, unpacking, and understanding how to use housing facilities. Advisors assist with tasks such as local address registration, opening a bank account, setting up a SIM card, and shopping for basic necessities. Students also receive an introductory briefing on local transportation, safety tips, and daily life essentials to help them adapt confidently.
Accommodation and settlement support is designed to help SIMI Swiss students transition comfortably and safely into their new living environment, supporting a strong start to their study journey.
The service includes practical move-in assistance, administrative guidance, and local orientation. However, ongoing daily support beyond the initial settlement period is not included.
Accommodation and settlement services do not guarantee long-term housing maintenance, landlord relations, or ongoing community support.
